Gift cards

Gift cards let customers pay an amount in advance — for themselves or as a gift. Velpr creates the code and sends it by email. You do not need to set up anything other than turning the feature on.

Turn on gift cards

1. Go to Site → Modules.
2. Turn on Gift cards — offer gift cards.
3. Click Save.

The Buy gift card button is now on the booking page, and the Add gift card code field in the cart.

Options that also apply to gift cards

Where	Option
Payment → Invoice	Allow for gift cards — whether gift cards can be paid by invoice. See Payment.
Regler (Rules)	A rule set with Applies to: Gift cards must be accepted before purchase. See Rules.
Site → Confirmation text	The text the customer sees after the purchase.
Incidents	You can get a notice when a gift card has been bought: Gavekort kjøpt (Gift card bought).

When a customer asks

There is no gift card overview

Velpr has no admin page for gift cards. You cannot look up the balance, extend, block or create a gift card yourself.

• “I have lost the code.” The code is on the buyer’s receipt under Min side (My page) → Receipts, and in the email with the receipt. You find the order under Reports.
• “How much is left?” The customer can add the code to the cart — the deduction shows how much is used, up to the total.
• “The gift card has expired.” Gift cards are valid for one year. If you want to give the customer the value back, you can sell a new gift card with Paid outside the system. See Payment.
