Version 2026.05

Access to the venue is now modelled as separate access points (doors/locks) that you link rental units to. Each access point can be one of two types:

  • Velpr — access codes (PIN) are generated and sent out automatically via Velpr, as it has worked before
  • External system — a key box, app or other lock system that is not integrated with Velpr. Here you enter instructions, contact information and optionally a link that is shown to the user after they have booked

The old codes page has been replaced by a new Access page in admin, where everything fits together: delivery settings, defined access points, which rental units they apply to, and the codes that belong to each access point.

Existing codes that are not linked to an access point are shown in a separate “Codes without access point” section and keep working as before, so nobody has to do anything to keep their current setup.

When a user has a ticket for a slot, the access information now shows up in several places:

  • Slot details — the code is shown under “Access” in the info sheet when you tap your slot
  • My page — the code is shown at the top for upcoming slots
  • Confirmation dialog and receipt — the code is shown right after payment if the slot is close enough in time
  • More info button — for external access points, a “More info” button appears that opens the instructions from the operator

There is also a dedicated access guide in the documentation that explains this to end users.

The admin interface has a brand-new home page where each section is shown as a card with an icon, a title and a short description. It is now clearer what is available and what each part does.

Along with this, breadcrumb navigation has been added at the top of every admin page, making it easier to get back to the overview.

The side menu has also been tidied up and is now built from the same source as the home page, so navigation is consistent wherever you are.

velpr.online has until now been marketed as a booking and registration system specifically for dogs. We have chosen to open this up — Velpr works just as well for other types of facilities and activities, and the home page, the descriptions and the pricing tables now reflect this.

For existing customers this makes no difference, but it opens the door for more types of facilities to start using Velpr going forward.

A new blog post has been published about Sotra Hundehall — the largest indoor dog hall in Western Norway, which opened in April. The post describes how the hall uses Velpr as a self-service booking service for its members, with memberships, club codes and restrictions that keep sharing between members fair.

The documentation pages have a theme of their own with warmer colours that match Velpr’s profile, plus a logo in the top bar. Dead links in the side menu have been removed and the structure is a little tidier.

  • Linked rental units: The reservation logic now handles linked rental units correctly when checking whether a slot is available. A dedicated test suite has been added for this
  • Confirmation dialog: Better handling of the access code in the confirmation dialog right after payment
  • My page: The accordion on My page no longer opens by default
  • Info sheet: The activity description is no longer shown in the info sheet when the slot is booked, and a useEffect that set overflow: hidden on body has been removed
  • Better user list in admin
  • Ergonomic improvements for code setup
  • Formr dialogs have clearer wording
  • Various clean-up of unit tests for code/ticket parsing
