A new payment solution with Vipps Checkout, automatic version checking and improved stability for all payment methods.

Vipps Checkout

Vipps Checkout is Vipps’ newest online store solution, where customers can choose between using their Vipps account or paying with a Visa or Mastercard card. It is also possible to integrate Klarna and other payment providers into this solution — so if any of you have done that, we will support it as well.

Vipps Checkout also brings support for MobilePay, which means this solution can be used in several of our neighbouring countries.

Since payments are critical for a great many of the facilities on Velpr, I will roll this out over a couple of weeks. If you want to try the new solution right away, go to facility > experimental and switch on Vipps Checkout.

Vipps product

Previously you could choose between two different online store solutions when ordering a Vipps product. Whichever of these products you chose, you will have access to Vipps Checkout. So this should work for everyone.

When Vipps Checkout is enabled for the facility, the configuration will look like this:

Improved stability for payments

All payment providers (Stripe, PayPal and Vipps) have received improvements that make them more robust against interruptions and errors during the payment process.

This includes better handling of:

• Network errors during payment
• Timeout problems
• Interrupted payments
• The browser’s back button

The payment buttons have also been given a more consistent look across all payment methods. If you integrate with all payment providers, the buttons will now look like this:

Website version

The application now automatically checks whether there is a new version that needs to be loaded. This ensures that users always have the latest version of the application, especially when important updates are made.

This is preparation for when flexible slots launch later this year.
