New layout

Since layout is a tricky thing to get right on every screen and for every facility, this layout is experimental. To switch it on, go to admin > facility > experimental

The new layout will become the default over the summer unless feedback comes in that suggests otherwise.

Some characteristics of the new layout:

  • Side menu for navigation.
  • Quick links to the first three menu items on large screens.
  • The side menu can stay open permanently on large screens. It is hidden by default.
  • The top is now the same colour as the rest of the page, for a more cohesive experience.

Faster page response

When you load the page, you will now quite quickly see two waves moving back and forth a little. This indicates that the page is loading. Previously it could take a while before you got any reaction from the page, which made it feel extra slow.

Better feedback to users

I have put in place better feedback to users when they enter a wrong or invalid club code.

I am also moving away from the small box that used to show a generic error, to a dialog that the user must confirm. I hope this will make it easier for users to understand what has happened.
